About our London, UK Massage Courses
Brandon Raynor's School of Massage and Natural Therapies is a world leader in intensive 5 day massage certificate courses and 10 day massage diploma courses. Providing you with massage training that incorporates all you need to know to become a professional high quality massage therapist our massage courses are taught hands on, apprenticeship style with a focus on massage training that develops your actual massage techniques and sense of touch, rather than drawing out the massage course and wasting your time and money on massage training that teaches you theory that is unrelated to the actual practical performance of professional massage therapy.
Brandon Raynor, Naturopath and world acclaimed massage training teacher, developed the Raynor technique of massage therapy which is so popular because of its unique ability to provide massage therapy that fixes muscular and postural problems as well as releases emotional stress and anxiety at its deepest level. Raynor Massage therapy is a highly advanced style of massage therapy that combines the best of eastern and western massage therapy including Shiatsu massage, acupressure massage, Thai massage and Lomi Lomi massage along with deep-tissue massage, sports massage and Swedish massage from the west. Raynor Massage therapy is taught in a practical and down-to-earth format so that anyone from those with no experience through to long term massage therapy practitioners will find our massage courses highly educational and find the Raynor Technique massage therapy easy to learn and practice yet an extremely advanced and effective form of massage therapy. Brandon Raynor's School of Natural Therapies first started holding massage courses in London in 2002, after first launching the school in all major Australian cities between 1999 and 2002. Our first massage courses in London were immediately successful with many graduates commenting that they had never seen such good massage therapy techniques in the UK before. Many of the people at the massage/shiatsu school where we held the course in London were also very surprised at our school's ability to train excellent massage therapists in such a short massage course. We have many graduates of the numerous massage courses in London that we have held since that first course in 2002. You can find some of those graduates here at the International Natural Therapies Association. We recommend you receive a massage from one of our graduates and see if you like it. This may also allay any doubt that you may have that we can't train people very well in our small intensive massage courses.
Our massage is a unique combination of techniques from around the world, blending the deep tissue, Swedish, Therapeutic and Aromatherapy styles of the Western world with the acupressure, shiatsu, Thai and Ayurvedic massage from Asia. We make it so that you can learn to massage in a very easy way even though our massage is a very advanced form of massage therapy. We do this by teaching advanced massage in a simple and easy to understand way. We don't spend excessive amounts of time on learning latin names for muscles, but rather you are massaging from Day 1 of the course. We also make it that you learn deep tissue massage from Day 1 which means that it will be easy to do lighter forms of massage such as Swedish massage and lymphatic drainage etc... TestimonialsTestimonials from people who completed our massage course in London I have just completed the Raynor Massage Diploma in London, taught by Brandon Raynor – it was the most intensive, most incredible and transformational 2 weeks of my life! I had never studied massage before and booked tentatively knowing how little I knew but attracted by the intensive nature of the course and the slightly quirky video clips online! I had spent 20 years working in education, 16 of these in University lecturing & training teachers and then had worked in the homeless sector. The couple of years running up to the course had been rough and I had begun to have panic attacks, was on anti-anxiety medication and knew that I had to make some real changes in my work and lifestyle. I kept being drawn back to this course and, not even knowing if I would be able to do it, took the plunge and booked. There were 16 of us on the certificate course with 9 staying on for the diploma, a great group of people to work with. The description of 20% tutor input, 40% massaging and 40% being massaged was pretty accurate – except that in massaging or being massaged, this also involved tutor input as we were guided through to gain confidence in what we did. Raynor massage is certainly not ‘fluffy’ massage where you feel good on the table but back to normal fairly quickly afterwards, being ‘on the table’ is an active process but for me as the tension was driven out of my muscles, so too was the anxiety and by the end of the first week I had abandoned my medication and have not needed it since. I re-discovered my outrageous side and have never laughed so much, I was a different person returning home. Since completing the course last week, I have massaged friends and family who have all been surprised by both the strength of the massage and that it was possible for me to learn so much in two weeks. I may not know the Latin names of the muscles I am working on, but I do know how to find tension in a person and then get rid of it – it’s that, rather than academic anatomical knowledge that in this massage makes the difference to people.
