Massage Courses in Canada
Brandon Raynor talking about the Canadian massage industry:
Raynor Massage is unlike almost all other forms of massage with its emphasis not just on working on tight muscles but also on addressing the underlying causes of that tension. Brandon Raynor spent many years studying massage and natural healing around the world and drawing upon this knowledge developed this unique and powerful form of massage. Raynor Massage focuses not just on the symptoms that clients present with, for example headaches, back pain or stress but on finding and eliminating the source of the problem as it is stored in the body. You can read more about the philosophy behind Raynor massage here by reading some of the articles written by Brandon to learn about:

The body as Elements
Raynor Massage takes as its starting point the understanding that tension in the body is not always simply physical tension, the emotional and the physical are intricately and inextricably connected. You cannot experience emotional stress without it impacting on the physical body and illness and blockages in the physical body will have an impact on the emotions. To offer a holistic treatment the practitioner should therefore treat the whole body, working not just on muscles but also on the subtle energy systems that run though the body.

We have three levels of courses, our introductory Certificate, ideal for massaging friends and family or for getting started in a massage career, our professional Diploma for those who are serious about a career in massage and our Advanced Diploma. The Advanced Diploma is only available to students who already have our Diploma and who ideally also have experience in using the massage. The Advanced course is taught by the head of the School, Brandon Raynor with courses running across the world.
You can only qualify in Raynor Massage through this school; this course is not available as a massage course through your local college, by correspondence or through any other retreat or training course. All of our teachers are selected and personally trained by Brandon Raynor to ensure that the quality of teaching is excellent and it is possible to split your study across the world, for example taking your Certificate course in Australia, your Diploma course in London and your Advanced Diploma in Hawaii. Discounts are also available if you book to study all three courses at the same time, even if you split when and where you study the courses. Use our contact form for more details or to discuss your individual needs.

Our massage courses teach a lot more than most massage courses, even ones that are years longer than ours. We teach you to massage areas like the stomach, ribcage, feet, hands, head, sacrum and energy points and pathways (meridians) of the body. We teach you to develop your intuition and sense of touch and work with the client's breathing pattern to unlock deep seated stress and blocked energy and make the massage treatment suit the client rather that just doing a routine massage the same for everyone. For a deeper understanding of how some of the philosophy behind the massage see the article The Body as Elements.
Massage Regulations in Canada
In Ontario, British Columbia and Newfoundland & Labrador massage is a regulated industry. To use terms such as 'Massage Therapist' and 'Massage Therapy' you need to be a Registered Massage Therapist (RMT) which entails up to 3,000 hours of training.
The Governments of these Provinces however recognise that all modalities of bodywork have a place within the wider health care provision. This means that if you take our courses in one of these provinces while you cannot work as a RMT, you can work providing Raynor Bodywork. The results of Raynor Massage speak for themselves and worldwide our therapists often find that they do not need to advertise as they are kept at capacity from word of mouth and repeat business. In these provinces only RMTs can give receipts for their clients to claim the cost of treatments back from their insurance companies, our experience is that clients are willing to pay themselves for a treatment that works. On courses in these locations we spend time discussing these issues and answering any questions you may have
Our massage courses in Canada are held in a series of 5 day courses. The massage courses are held in Calgary, Edmonton , Ottawa, Montreal, Saskatoon, Toronto, Vancouver
