About Brandon Raynor’s Massage School

The goal of our massage school is to provide comprehensive massage education in an easy to learn format for an affordable price.

Brandon Raynor giving massage class

Brandon Raynor started teaching massage in Sydney, Australia in 1997 on a part time basis. By 2000 he had started teaching full time and had set up a massage school in Brisbane, Australia as well. By 2001 Brandon Raynor’s massage school expanded to include teaching massage courses in Melbourne, Adelaide, Perth, and the Gold Coast.

The school’s massage courses are extremely popular in Australia especially with people aged 20 to 50 who don’t have the time or desire to go back to a full time, longer termed massage school but still want to learn the skill of massage.

Increasing demand over the last few years for Brandon Raynor’s massage training has turned our institute into Australia’s largest massage school.

By early 2002 the massage school had expanded into Tasmania. We eventually set up a full time massage school in Launceston, Tasmania. Late 2002, we launched our first massage courses in the UK and the United States.

Our massage school started our first London massage courses, which were very popular and were followed by massage courses in Manchester and Edinburgh. Students in the UK were very excited to learn this new, very strong and effective style of massage.

Massage class graduates

Boston was the first American city that we offered our training in. The course was held on the premises of the East West Shiatsu School in Cambridge. A comment was made by the owner of the massage school on how he was very surprised by how much the students learned in such a short period of time and how happy they all were with the course.

Our massage courses were being held in Honolulu - Hawaii, Bozeman - Montana, and Burlington - Vermont by 2003 while continuing to hold massage courses in the London area every 3 months.

Our first massage course in Montana, had 34 students and was taught by both Brandon and his wife Rebecca. Unfortunately other massage schools in Montana, objected to our school teaching our intensive courses there and we had a bit of a debate in the newspapers about whether we could actually teach people to massage well in 5 or 10 days. The other Montana, massage schools refused to have a massage day where the public decided which massage they preferred to settle the matter. They were obviously scared that the public may prefer our style of massage to the one they taught in a one year program.

To represent the needs of our graduates, we have set-up an association called the (International Natural Therapies Association).

2004 brought about the expansion of our massage therapy school into a large permanent training facility in Launceston, Tasmania, Australia. We furthered our expansion into the US with courses in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Lawrence, Kansas and Atlanta, Georgia as well as more Massage Courses in the UK. Our Australian massage school continues to hold courses in all major cities in Australia every 3 months. We also did our first massage courses in Dublin, Ireland.

In 2005 our massage school started to hold massage courses in Canadian cities such as Toronto, Vancouver and Calgary, as well as expanding our massage therapy school activities and massage courses into Singapore. By 2005 we had more than 5,000 graduates worldwide.

"The atmosphere was relaxed and friendly ensuring you could enjoy the intense experience. I would highly recommend this course to anyone interested in massage! Overall a truly wonderful experience."
Catherine Loblan,
Melbourne Massage Course - 2005

2006 saw our South African massage school start by holding massage course in Cape Town, where our teacher Brett Pascoe taught our 5 day Raynor Massage Certificate Course to a very impressed group of students. Our massage therapy school is also continuing expansion into Canada with massage courses being offered in Winnipeg and Ottawa. All other major centres continue to have several massage courses offered throughout the year.

In 2007 we started offering our Diploma of Naturopathy by correspondence. The course is still being developed but we already have 3 ex massage students enrolled in the course and continuing on with it. It is constantly being added to and upgraded.

Brandon Raynor also spent much of 2007 campaigning for reform of massage laws in the United States and Canada. He started his Freedom Ride, traveling around the US calling for deregulation of the massage industry.

2008 will see our first massage courses in Dubai, and also our first massage course in India. We also continue to develop our expansion into regional areas of Australia such as Rockhampton, Cairns, Townsville, Dubbo, the Blue Mountains, Woolongong, and Griffith.

We are also offering our first massage courses in Munich, Germany. We now have a German language website for our new massage school in Germany.

Projects currently being undertaken are the expansion of our massage therapy school into Japan.

Brandon Raynor now resides in Hawaii and is hoping to set up a retreat centre to teach students some of the advanced massage techniques that he practices while his other teachers continue teaching in all other parts of the world.
