What are Deep Tissue Massage Courses? How does they compare to other massage courses? The term Deep Tissue Massage has slowly come into common usage but is not necessarily strictly one “form” of massage therapy. It is a general term that refers to deep forms of therapeutic massage and other forms of massage. deep tissue massage courses usually have as their goal the deep release of tightly held muscles and “knots”.
Deep Tissue Massage courses can involve many of the techniques from therapeutic massage but would teach these techniques in a much firmer way. The Raynor massage course is a form of a deep tissue massage course. Courses in Raynor massage, however, have the added benefit of using acupressure points and techniques from shiatsu massage as well, whereas a normal deep tissue massage course would focus more on traditional European massage techniques such as stroking, percussion, tapotement etc….. Raynor massage is form of deep tissue massageA a Raynor massage course is like a more "intelligent" form of a deep tissue massage course because we don’t just work deeply on a muscle when it is tight, we will also trace the muscle tightness to its source and release it from its source. It is like pulling a weed out of the garden - you need to get it out by the roots. So if someone has a tight back, their tension may actually be coming from their feet or from their chest. No point in just doing deep tissue massage on the back when that tension is held from the feet. That will just cause unnecessary bruising and soreness. But deep tissue massage done intelligently by “getting the tension out from the roots” will feel wonderful. <
One of the most important considerations when receiving a Raynor Deep tissue massage therapy treatment is to breathe into where there is pain. In massage there is good and bad pain. Good pain is where something is sore but a person can feel the tension being released while a therapist works on it. Bad pain is just where there is pain but no therapeutic benefit. To enhance the benefits of deep tissue massage a person must breathe into areas where there is “good pain” when a therapist works on those areas. This will allow the therapist to work deeper and get more muscle release, which will in turn produce more feelings of relaxation. It is interesting that many people think that “relaxation massage” must always be light. In fact, deep tissue massage is usually far more relaxing after the massage than light massage. This is because the muscles have actually become more relaxed on a deeper level. In fact the word relax really can be broken up into two words the word “re” which means to bring something back to a previous state and the word ”lax” which means loose. So, real relaxation massage actually involves bringing all the muscles of the body back to a state of looseness, which is actually what the goal of a good form of deep tissue massage, such as Raynor massage, should be.
